There are very few companies that have owned a product category to the degree that La-Z-Boy owns recliners. It is an iconic brand with a still patented and far superior product in its core niche. However, many customers are discovering that La-Z-Boy is much more.
Don’t tell Mary Reynolds that the word, “recliner” can define all that La-Z-Boy is about today. Mary is one of many La-Z-Boy customers who have taken advantage of the free In-Home Design Service that La-Z-Boy offers. “When I first walked into the La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries in Fort Myers, we had just relocated to Southwest Florida and were looking for a new couch. Our consultant told us about the complimentary design program offered by La-Z-Boy; and I’m so glad she did! Our new house is now a home. We worked with the designer, Angie, and our consultant to choose our new couch, rug, coffee and end tables, wall art and a few accessories to create a beautiful space personalized to us. We could never have done all of it on our own.”
Today La-Z-Boy extends the comfort and quality found in their world famous recliners to a wide selection of living room and family room furniture; and, with free in-home design, customers can utilize a professional designer to create a comfortable and beautiful space made just for them.
“We love working with customers to create a refuge that they absolutely love to come home to.” said Kelly Harden, Vice President of Sales in Southwest Florida. “Here you can enjoy the benefits of a professional interior designer completely complimentary with your purchase.”
Utilizing complimentary In-Home Design is simple
In-Home Design appointments can be made by stopping by the store either in Fort Myers or Naples. You’ll meet with a certifies sales associate to schedule an appointment and discuss the desired style of the room, lighting needs, carpet/ floor color, current wall colors, seating requirements, budget and existing pieces to work into the layout.
Then, our professional designer will come to you, in the comfort of your home, to learn even more about what you’re looking for, take measurements and photograph the room. “Our service is not about forcing things on people,” says showroom designer Angie DiFranciesco. “We lead, guide and direct, but the client’s wishes are foremost in our process and in our final presentation.”
A final presentation in the store is then scheduled where room plans and layouts, sketches and fabric and frame selections are unveiled. “By that time, we have done a professional floor plan and have color boards, rug samples, fabrics, and accessories all together in a presentation to show our clients what we have put together for their home,” says Angie.
In-Home Design clients are satisfied clients
Mary Reynolds confirms, “The personal attention and their desire to get to know me and my family made it a fun process and we ended up with a new living room that reflects our style and personality. We love the pieces that we picked out with the La-Z-Boy team. They have helped us transform our house into a home and partnered with us to create a comfortable living space that all my friends adore.” Design tips from our La-Z-Boy certified designer.
Angie offers some design tips for clients who may be considering re-doing a room.
1) Plan Ahead

2) Consult a Professional
Although using in-home design is not a requirement to shop at La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries, Angie recommends using this free service. “Just like you receive inspections and advice from experts before purchasing a home or a car, shoppers should consult home furnishings experts before purchasing new furniture. Home furnishings should be a quality, lasting investment that speaks to your personal style for years to come.”
3) Consider Quality
Finally, consider the construction and durability of furnishings before the purchase. “To be a lasting investment and add comfort to the home for years to come, furniture should not only look well, but be made well,” added Angie. “I can honestly
